Salad is healthy and good to eat if you are losing weight, but not if it’s a Caesar salad. A small bowl of this salad contains about 30 grams of fat and 300 to 400 calories. Thanks to the salad dressing, you will be jeopardizing your diet plan when you use Caesar as dressing. The best thing to do is use only 1 tablespoon dressing and two tablespoon parmesan cheese no more. Or you can try other salad dressing that does not wreck your diet plan.

Less Fat Milk or 2% Fat Milk

Whole milk contains about 8 gram of fat, 150 calories and 5 gram of saturated fat. 2% fat or less fat milk contains 5 gram of fat, 130 calories and 3 gram of fat. If you are buying less fat milk or milk with only 2% fat, you can still gain weight. 2% fat milk sounds healthier, but it still contain half of the saturated fat of whole milk.

So what milk is good? Skim milk contains 80 calories, 0 gram fat and 0 gram saturated fat. The taste is not as good as whole milk, but you are trying to lose weight so taste should not be your first priority.

Some people combine whole milk with 2% fat milk and then later on whole milk with nonfat milk to get used to the taste of skim milk.

The market is full of candy bars that according to companies selling them are healthy options. Well, these energy bars often contain up to 500 calories and preservatives. And they cost a fortune. Eating candy bars is not enough to curb hunger so most of the time you will eat more than one bar. And that would destroy your diet and workout plan. The calories contain in one bar, will double if you eat two or more to satiate your hunger.

If you are hungry and love energy bars, protein bar, granola or whatever they are called these days. Choose an energy bar that contains only 200 calories and no more, 5 grams of protein and fiber. But if you ask me, it is still best to eat the real thing as you can save on money and calories.
